AI assistants

Your net worth, inside Claude or ChatGPT

Connect your AI assistant to Finvygo. It reads your net worth, answers your questions, and can add a holding, always after your confirmation.

Server URL to paste into your assistant

Compatible clients

Finvygo exposes a standard MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Any compatible client can connect to it, from everyday chat apps to coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor.

  • Claude
  • ChatGPT
  • Coding agents
  • Any other MCP client

How it works

  1. 1

    Add the connector

In your assistant, add a connector and paste the Finvygo server URL.

  2. 2

    Authorise once

You are redirected to Finvygo to sign in and authorise access. This only happens once.

  3. 3

    Ask

Ask your questions in plain language, or ask for a holding to be added. Your assistant queries Finvygo and answers you.

What your assistant can do

What's my asset allocation?

Your assistant retrieves your net worth breakdown by asset class and currency, then explains it in plain language.

How much is my net worth today?

The consolidated total in your reference currency, debts deducted, exactly as it appears on your dashboard.

How has it changed over the past year?

Your net worth history over the period you choose, so you can ask for an analysis instead of reading a chart.

How much passive income will I earn over the next twelve months?

Projected dividends, coupons and rent, aggregated over the horizon you ask for.

What do I hold in my ISA?

The detail of your holdings, grouped by account and by broker.

Is this stock in my portfolio?

A search for a listed asset by name or ISIN code, and whether it appears among your holdings.

Add a holding to your portfolio

With your confirmation

Your assistant can add a holding to your portfolio. We would rather say so plainly than let you find out: it never happens without your approval.

Before any addition, Finvygo sends a confirmation request back to your assistant, which shows it to you. Without an answer from you, nothing is written. A client that cannot display that request is simply never offered the addition.

An addition stays reversible for fifteen minutes, as long as you have not edited the holding in the meantime.

What it cannot do

  • It cannot edit or delete a holding you entered yourself.
  • It has no access to your bank accounts: Finvygo is declarative, there is no connection to any bank or broker.
  • It never sees your password or your private key: authorisation goes through a dedicated token.
  • You can revoke its access at any time, from your settings.
  • Authorisation stays active as long as you use it. It expires after 30 days without use, and after 90 days at the latest either way.

Security and privacy

  • Authorisation follows the OAuth 2.1 standard with PKCE: no shared secret, no password ever shared with your assistant.
  • The issued token is only valid for Finvygo's MCP server. It grants access to nothing else.
  • You sign in with the method you already use: email, Google, Apple or private key.
  • Your data stays hosted in Europe.
  • No data is ever resold, to an assistant maker or to anyone else.

Connecting, step by step

  1. 1Create your Finvygo account, for free, if you have not already.
  2. 2Add at least one holding, otherwise your assistant will have nothing to read.
  3. 3In your assistant, open the connector settings and choose to add one.
  4. 4Paste the Finvygo server URL. Your assistant discovers the rest of the configuration on its own.
  5. 5Sign in to Finvygo in the window that opens, then approve the requested access.
  6. 6Return to your conversation and ask, for example: what's my asset allocation?

If something isn't working

Authorisation never finishes

You sign in, you land on your dashboard, and your assistant stays stuck waiting. Restart adding the connector from your assistant rather than from a tab you opened by hand.

Everything returns an access error

Your authorisation has probably expired: it lapses after 30 days without use, and after 90 days at the latest. Remove the connector in your assistant, then add it again.

The assistant doesn't offer to add a holding

Adding a holding assumes your assistant knows how to show you a confirmation request. Not every client does yet. Reading, on the other hand, works in every case.

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect ChatGPT to a net worth tracker?

Yes. Finvygo exposes a standard MCP server, and any compatible client, including ChatGPT, can connect to it to read your net worth.

Can Claude read my portfolio?

Yes, once the Finvygo connector is added and access is authorised. Claude then queries Finvygo every time you ask a question.

What is an MCP server?

MCP, for Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to an outside service. Finvygo exposes one, which saves you from retyping your numbers by hand into a conversation.

Which assistants are compatible?

Any client that implements MCP with OAuth authorisation. Reading works everywhere; adding a holding additionally requires the client to know how to display a confirmation request.

Can my assistant edit or delete my holdings?

It can read, and add a holding after your explicit confirmation. It cannot edit anything, and can only remove the addition it just made itself, within fifteen minutes.

Do I need to give my bank credentials?

No, never. Finvygo is declarative: you enter your holdings yourself, no bank connection exists, neither for you nor for your assistant.

How do I revoke an assistant's access?

From your Finvygo settings, at any time. Access stops immediately. It also expires on its own: after 30 days without use, or after 90 days at the latest.

Is it paid?

No. Connecting an assistant is included, like the rest of Finvygo, with no subscription or premium tier.

Can I connect a coding agent such as Claude Code?

Yes. Claude Code, Cursor and other coding agents that implement MCP connect to the same server, with the same OAuth authorisation. You add the server URL, approve access in your browser, then query your net worth from your terminal or your editor.
